Meet Marie, one of Legacy Tree Genealogists talented project managers!
Marie’s interest in genealogy began when she unexpectedly uncovered her grandfather’s secret past, which included a name change, a previously unknown family, and several other shocking surprises. This experience, from research to discovery, to meeting new family, and sharing family history, inspired Marie to turn her passion for genealogy into a career. She previously earned degrees in engineering and education, as well as a Masters in Science, Information Science and Library Management. Working in each of these fields gave her excellent problem-solving, research, and management skills as well as a passion for helping others through education.
After earning a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University and completing the ProGen Study Group, Marie began focusing on client research and speaking engagements. Her research has focused primarily on the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Quebec, Canada. She has completed a number of advanced DNA courses, which have helped her solve challenging unknown parentage cases.
Outside of genealogy, Marie is an avid rock climber and trail runner and loves spending time outside with her family. She volunteers as a sponsor for a newly arrived refugee family and tries hard to coax vegetables from her garden. Marie is excited to work with and learn from the experts at Legacy Tree Genealogists and she’s particularly eager to help clients in her role as Project Manager.
