Chalise’s love of family history began as a 7th grader in junior high school. Her math professor dad assigned her to transfer several binders of extensive family records into the family computer. What started out as more of a consequence for a math grade that could have been better, ended up beginning a lifetime of great joy in genealogical pursuits. Exploring her Norwegian, Spanish, English and Scottish family lines has been incredibly fascinating and fulfilling. The bonds within her extended family have continued to grow closer as stories and insights are shared from discoveries that are made.
After Chalise graduated from high school in beautiful Colorado Springs, she began her studies at Brigham Young University, married and has loved her role as mother and supporter these last 25 years while raising her 5 children. She has always enjoyed encouraging her children and others in their understanding of the importance of family history research. She believes passionately that every barrier has a solution whether the challenge is due to a lack of records, family trauma, adoption complexities or unknown family dynamics coming to light. Chalise has extensive experience helping others feel courage that despite pain and heartache that sometimes exists within families, there are still inestimable personal gains from discovering stories of courage and resilience that can be found in every family footprint.
Chalise enjoys volunteering family history assistance regularly in her community. She is known for having great empathy and excellent communication in helping others with their needs. When not doing genealogy work, Chalise loves to learn by traveling to historical sites throughout the country and she loves to read. She also has so much fun watching her son and daughter who are collegiate student athletes playing basketball and volleyball. There is nothing more rewarding than spending time with family in person or through genealogical research!
