Have you reached a “brick wall” in your genealogy research? Onsite genealogy research in the United Kingdom may just be the key to extending your U.K. family history. We have genealogists in the United Kingdom that can help!
Challenges in United Kingdom Genealogy Research
United Kingdom family history research can be difficult because of the many recording jurisdictions and their various repositories. Records were created at the national level, the county level, by poor-law unions which could straddle county lines, by parishes, by ecclesiastical courts which also encompassed multiple counties, and varying levels of civil courts. While the National Archives at Kew has preserved many pertinent records, there are still thousands that can only be found in county record offices and individual parish churches.
Our Team of Professional Genealogists Can Help
If you have UK ancestry, our professionals can track down the city/town of origin of your ancestors, determine where that location actually is today, and identify where the records for that place are currently kept. For those areas that don’t have records available online our onsite agents can then visit that location to obtain any documents that are available.
