Have you reached a “brick wall” in your genealogy research? Onsite genealogy research in Scotland may just be the key to extending your Scottish ancestry. We have genealogists in Scotland that can help!
Challenges in Scottish Genealogy Research
While many Scottish records have been digitized by the Scottish government (old parochial registers, probate records and civil registration post-1855), there are still some record types that are only available onsite at the National Records of Scotland or other local archives. These include parish registers for churches other than the Church of Scotland or the Roman Catholic church, as well as lesser known records such as poor law, court, school, kirk session, or land records that can be used to trace ancestry. These records often must still be accessed onsite at the relevant archive where they are held.
Our Team of Professional Genealogists Can Help
If you have Scottish ancestry, our professionals can track down the city/town of origin of your ancestors, determine where that location actually is today, and identify where the records for that place are currently kept. Our onsite agents can then visit that location to obtain any documents that are needed.
