In 2012, Erin inherited several bins filled with her husband’s family history documents including photographs, letters, and diary’s—most originating from the mid-19th century, but some as early as the late 18th century. Reading these records ignited her interest in genealogical research and fostered a sincere love for ancestors she had never known. Erin now strives to help others discover this same love as she assists them in their effort to uncover their family stories.
Education and Training:
Erin is a critical thinker who loves to ask questions. In the spring of 2022, Erin graduated from Brigham Young University – Idaho with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Family History Research. She loved school and happily discovered that she loved writing research reports.
Specialties:
Erin has experience with projects in the northeastern, the midwestern, and the mid Atlantic regions of the United States. However, her favorite place to research is the state of Maine where she is currently working to certify through the Board of Certification of Genealogists.
Experience:
Erin joined the Legacy Tree family in the spring of 2025. Before that, she was employed by the Wilford Woodruff Papers Foundation where she worked to identify and conduct genealogical research on the people mentioned in his 19th century journals.
She and her husband reside in Virginia and enjoy being parents to five wonderful children.
