Chloe Scholes grew up in several areas of the United States. She enjoyed learning about different local histories and people. While at Brigham Young University, Chloe discovered an interest in genealogy. She joined a project at BYU's Center for Family History and Genealogy that focused on families that migrated from Wales to the United States. Chloe worked as a freelance genealogist for a few years after graduating and joined the Legacy Tree Genealogists team in 2025.
Chloe loves finding things that make an ancestor unique. For example, someone who died after spitting tobacco juice in an circus elephant's eye or a baby born eleven months after her mother's husband emigrated. She often finds more subtle details, such as a different career for each ‘Henry Allen' in three successive generations. Chloe especially loves finding the heartwarming stories like the crippled Vienna whose siblings made sure she never had to live alone.
