Andrew likes to tell people that his interest in family history was sparked long before his birth when a 10-year-old girl danced with the Marquis de Lafayette. This and other stories created a strong sense of connection and interest in family history among that young girl’s descendants, including Andrew. Andrew grew up just outside of Washington, D.C., and spent his childhood tromping through museums, historic sites, old houses, and cemeteries. Andrew had many other interests growing up and graduated from high school with a solid foundation in math and science but decided to try something different in college and focused on his interest in family history.
