The experts at Legacy Tree Genealogists are experienced in using and analyzing DNA test results.
I’ve taken a DNA test…now what?
Let’s face it. DNA testing can be confusing. DNA testing for ancestry is increasing in popularity because of the incredible discoveries that DNA enables us to uncover. But if you have questions about genetic genealogy, you’re not alone–and we want to help! The genetic genealogists at Legacy Tree can analyze your DNA results and help you understand how to effectively use these results in your family history.
How does DNA analysis work?
By utilizing advancements in genetic genealogy and thorough genealogical research, DNA testing allows the team at Legacy Tree Genealogists to use DNA information as a means of learning more about an individual’s family history. DNA is a biological record of an individual’s shared ancestry with their close and distant cousins. By analyzing the types, amount, size and position of DNA segments that two or more individuals share in common, we can collaborate with genetic cousins and identify additional information regarding their shared heritage. In many cases DNA testing helps to solve family mysteries and resolve questions about adoption and biological family members that would otherwise be impossible to investigate due to lack of records.
What does it cost?
At only $500, the DNA Discovery Project from Legacy Tree Genealogists offers an entry-level solution for individuals seeking to glean more from their DNA testing results.
If you’ve already taken a DNA test, our expert genetic genealogists will analyze your test results and provide a written explanation of results, including recommendations for additional testing/research to meet your goal(s). If you have not yet taken a DNA test, the DNA Discovery Project may be used to create a DNA testing plan, outlining whom you should test and why in order to achieve your specific research goal(s). Results are delivered digitally, and take approximately 2-3 weeks to complete.
