My question has to do with my DNA. (MH3VZP84). I am nearly 1/2 irish,British. The other is Italian 40%. My grandfather is 100% Italian. He married into the German Dey family. I remember them as they talked in the German language. How come I have no German in my DNA? Just Italian?
I have submitted a DNA test kit through 23&me. Will I get an accurate DNA reading in terms of where my ancestors came from? For some reason I think that these test are bogus. I mean how can these kinds of tests determine my genetic makeup? I have already purchased a kit and sent it back to 23 and me, but I can’t imagine it telling me my accurate ancestral genetic makeup, but only the possible location that my ancestor may have traveled to. People travel all the time, but that doesn’t mean their ancestor’s were born of that particular region Or country. Please explain whether or not these DNA sites such as ancestry or 23&me are a waste of time and money.
